New Showroom: Peter Hain MP officially opened the new Neath Port Talbot site on 1st July. Remploy's new Factory and Furniture Administration Offices in Neath Port Talbot are equipped with a 2000 sq ft showroom which you are welcome to visit. It shows how Remploy Furniture can be used to successfully equip all parts of your establishment. The displays include reception/lounge areas, school and public library furniture, various laboratory and food technology installations, admin/office furniture, dining tables and chairs, accommodation and kitchen furniture, and a changing/locker room area. The classroom displays incorporate state-of-the-art ICT products and offer a chance to look at and feel the classroom furniture for the schools of the future. We are also using our conferencing facility here for conducting seminars / training sessions on 'Disability Awareness', specially designed for education professionals.

Prize Draw - Congratulations to Helen Taylor and Alexandra Stearn, winners of the Remploy Library Solutions prize draw, which was held at this year's Library and Information Show (LIS). Helen, of Shoreham College in West Sussex won the Southern Section whilst Newcastle College's Alexandra triumphed in the Northern Section. Both will receive a magnificent maple 'Byron' book trolley worth £250.

The new and improved Shirley Library in Southampton will be unveiled this month after Remploy Furniture's Library Solutions team completed a remarkable transformation. Practical mobile shelving has been combined with luxurious soft furnishings and a relaxing colour scheme to provide a modern, flexible facility for the local community. A spectacular three and a half metre timber ship, lovingly hand-crafted and full of interactive features, has been included to encourage parents and their young children to enjoy their local library.

Remploy Furniture is set to complete a massive student accommodation project within the prestigious St Andrews University at the end of this month with the final phase of bedroom furniture built and ready to ship. The consignment of fifty eight full bedrooms - including bed bases, mattresses, double wardrobes, bookcases and student desks - brings a successful conclusion to an order worth more than £750k. A staggering 1,000 bedrooms will have been furnished over a two year period.

Remploy Furniture has won the contract for Kent County Council's Arts and Libraries Department for the refurbishment of Otford Library, as part of a three year programme initiated by the Council to modernise a number of its library buildings. Remploy's Library Solutions team will handle the refurbishment, which is due for completion by Easter.

Remploy Furniture's Library Solutions team has been chosen to design and install a brand new Learning Resource Centre for Cardinal Newman Catholic School. The accepted plan includes an attractive mixture of silver shelving with frosted glass end panels, maple wood finishes and stunning 'Tulip' fabric. The new facility will also boast a number of Remploy Furniture's Height Adjustable Tables, which are perfect for providing an element of independence for disabled students as they can be easily altered without help from staff.

Remploy Furniture has just secured another phase of laboratory installations within the prestigious Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML). Another three laboratories will be re-furbished in addition to the fifteen already successfully installed in phases 1 and 2. PML is renowned worldwide for its research work assessing the changes in estuarine, coastal and shelf ecosysytems.

Administration staff within Wales's new showpiece theatre will be sitting at desks provided by Remploy Furniture. The Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff has been built at a cost of £104 million and £13,000 of that money has been spent on specialist desks and storage units for "behind the curtain" offices. The highly crafted furniture has been assembled in an unusual combination of Beech veneer and Gentian Blue finish, fitting in perfectly with its plush surroundings. The Wales Millennium Centre opened its doors to the public in a blaze of worldwide publicity at the end of November.

The M100 SpaceStation from SpaceAce Storage Solutions is now commercially available. This unique product provides storage solutions for people with stretching or bending difficulties. The 2metre tall cabinet uses a highly advanced electronic system to raise and lower the internal shelving, thus allowing easy access to the contents of each shelf at the same convenient height. Remploy Furniture provides the cabinet carcass, which comprises 35 separate Beech MDF panels. Remploy Furniture's team of engineering and manufacturing experts have also played a leading role in the product's design and development.

A new library within the Genetics and Dentistry Department of Guys Hospital will be supplied and installed by Remploy Furniture. The famous teaching hospital's new learning resource centre will be installed with Remploy Furniture's Futura shelving range, with a striking silver finish offset by beautiful blue end and infill panels. This prestigious project perfectly demonstrates the flexibility and expertise of Remploy Furniture's Library Solutions project team.

A massive £350k contract has been awarded to Remploy Furniture by the Diocese of Peterborough for the supply and installation of furniture at its new Unity College, which is currently being built in Northampton.
Remploy will supply classroom furniture, lockers and high-tech interactive whiteboards for the ambitious project, which has been instigated by the Church of England and paid for via grants from the Department for Education and Skills.
